We believe in allowing the students express themselves to the fullest that is why we created cultural day and talent day. For Achievers, learning occurs in many different settings beyond the walls of a traditional classroom. Cultural Day is a special day, set aside for the celebration of our rich and diverse cultures. The day provides us with an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the values of cultural diversity and to advance the four goals of the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions adopted on 20 October 2005: Support sustainable systems of governance for culture.
The event, organised by the Vice principal, takes place in the assembly ground and students put together displays showing information about the country as well as having samples of native clothing, food and crafts. Visitors to the stands are able to sample different dishes from across the country. Students are also on hand to paint Henna designs on visitors’ hands whether it was intricate flowers and trelliswork or simply the students name. The visiting students / pupils are invited to complete the 19-question quiz which encourages them to ask questions and find out more from each of the displays.
