The primary academic goals of QIS are encouraging sound scholarship, independent thinking, good judgement, and clear communication. Across disciplines, QIS teaches a wide variety of critical thinking skills, asking students to grapple with complex problems and to articulate and defend their solutions with evidence, logic, and reason. In so doing, the QIS’s teaching methods emphasizes six basic disciplines: English, history, mathematics, world languages, science, and the arts. Students have a range of elective choices, including practical courses from various partnering organizations.
